Job summary

The Security, Privacy, Identity and Trust Engagement NetworkPlus was established in 2019 and brings together people involved in research, practice and policy with a focus on digital contexts. SPRITE+ is a 'one stop shop' for engagement between academic and non-academic communities - a way for these communities to connect and a platform for building collaborations across the spectrum of issues relating to security, privacy, identity and trust. The second phase of SPRITE+ (2023-2027) will continue to build our membership, whilst expanding the breadth and depth of our innovation, and deepen our impact through proactive engagement.

SPRITE+ is led by a consortium of five universities: University of Manchester (lead institution), Imperial College London, Lancaster University, Queen’s University Belfast, and University of Southampton. Our Management Team is supported by a multi-disciplinary group of Expert Fellows and non-academic Project Partners from different sectors, including industry, government, law enforcement, and civil society.


Duties and responsibilities

The Business Engagement and Intelligence Officer will be responsible for monitoring the delivery of the Engagement Strategy and Plan, the focus of which is an approach for enhancing our understanding of key TIPS (Trust, Identity, Privacy, Security) foci for industry via a programme of work. They will report on progress and developments to the SPRITE+ management team who will have overall responsibility for the delivery of the Engagement plan.


Essential requirements

  • An undergraduate level degree, equivalent qualification or considerable relevant work experience

  • Proven experience in leading and completing multiple projects within a wider portfolio, and agility to respond effectively to changing demands and priorities

  • Proven experience of strategy development and implementation

  • Proven stakeholder engagement and coordination skills – preferably within a security context

  • Programme management and working with senior leadership

  • Strong, evidenced experience in collating and analysing complex information and data from different sources, and applying it in high-level reports and reviews

  • Exposure to working with academics or in an academic environment

This is a part-time, fixed-term post (17.5 hours per week) until 31 August 2027.
