The Faculty of Education Health and Wellbeing provides an integrated and high-quality professional service to applicants, students and staff. The Faculty is a dynamic learning community committed to enhancing the quality of education, health and wellbeing for people locally, nationally and internationally.  We offer courses in Education Studies, Community Health, Health Studies, Midwifery, Nursing, Paramedic Science, Psychology, Public Health, Social Care, Social Work and Sport.

We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic individual to provide support to the sports laboratories as a Sport Technician.

Technician Skills and Overview:

  • You will demonstrate a professional, caring and helpful attitude towards staff, students and visitors and be required to support teaching, research and outreach activities within the laboratories through the use of state-of-the-art equipment and technology. 
  • Provide general maintenance of equipment, inventory and ordering of stock
  • Ensure timetabling of the lab spaces and equipment are kept up to date
  • Provide support to University Open Days and Applicant Days

Technician required skills:

  • You will be educated to degree level standard or equivalent and have the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload
  • Work collaboratively with people at all levels, including students, within the Faculty and the wider University
  • You will have practical experience of working within a sport environment or similar support role
  • Required to work flexibly to cover practical skills and provide technical support which may include working across the four campuses, and will also include some weekend and evening work
  • Moderate moving and handling activities are essential requirement for this post
  • You will be expected to undertake first aid and automated external defibrillator (AED) training and assume a first aid role within the Faculty

The School of Sport has wide ranging expertise in areas such as sport sociology, sports coaching, sports and exercise psychology, physiology, and biomechanics for elite performance and health, physical education, and strength and conditioning.
