The University of Helsinki is strengthening its innovative activities and the social impact of its research. As a part of this development, the University of Helsinki is implementing the Kumpula Innovation Campus project during 2023-2026.

The main objectives are to increase the number of research-based innovations on campus, to strengthen our comprehensive research and innovation collaboration with the business world, to support the establishment of student- and research-based companies, and to develop new and open infrastructures and experimental environments. The project will also seek new EU funding intended for research, innovation, and industrial competitive capacity. Special focus areas are utilisation of data and AI, deep digital technologies, and sustainable solutions.

The University of Helsinki on behalf of the Kumpula Innovation Campus project is looking for:

A Specialist (AI and data innovation)

As a specialist, your duties will include conceptualising and promoting the development of an open innovation environment/platform focusing on the utilisation of data, on AI, and new digital solutions, in close collaboration with the Finnish Center for Artificial Intelligence as well as other operators in the field of AI and data solutions. Our objectives include mapping the needs of the business world and possible partners, to the design and piloting of services, funding of the innovation platform, as well as the promotion of the accessibility and usability of research data and other data.

To successfully carry out the duties of the post, you need deep knowledge and proven experience in solutions based on open data, data analysis, and AI, of developing services, as well as of development collaborations between academia, businesses, and other operators. Further, we appreciate experience in project and EU funding for collaborations between academia and the business world.

You have a higher academic degree and good negotiation and communication skills. Besides excellent English skills, a good command of Finnish is helpful.

The position is a fixed-term post that will continue until 30 June 2026. The salary is 4,500-5,500 Euros per month.
