The Medical School of the University of Cyprus invites applications for the filling of positions of Specialist Scientists for teaching, for the Spring Semester 2022-2023 (16/01/2023 – 28/04/2023).

TEACHING REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidates will be required to teach the following courses:

MEDMS709 “Special topics in Human Molecular and Medical Genetics” MEDMS705 “Molecular diagnostics“

The successful candidates will be required to teach and guide students, to administer and mark the final exam for the courses s/he will teach.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS

Special Scientist remuneration is 68 euro (gross) per teaching hour. Gross payment is made as follows: €68 per hour × teaching hours for the Spring Semester 2022–2023.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor and/or Master's degree in any of the following: Biology, Genetics or any other relevant Biomedical degree
  • Doctorate degree (PhD) in a relevant field
  • Very good knowledge of the English language
  • Relevant teaching experience

Applicants need not be citizens of the Republic of Cyprus. Applicants should however ensure, before applying, that in case they are selected they will be residing in Cyprus on a full-time basis during the employment period; submission of application implies acceptance of this condition. Acceptance of this term must be also explicitly stated in the letter of application.

  • Copies of degrees and transcripts (The successful candidate(s) will be asked to submit certified copies from the Ministry of Education of Cyprus (if degrees were acquired in Cyprus) or from the respective institution abroad).

In case an applicant is employed in the public or wider public sector of the Republic of Cyprus, s/he must obtain permission to work at the University from the appropriate Department/Ministry, or wider public sector authority, prior to signing their contract.
