We are looking to recruit an experienced software developer to join the Web Applications Development Team at the University of Aberdeen. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting applications under the remit of the Web Applications Development Team.

You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) or have equivalent relevant experience.

You will have experience working as a software developer, using back and front-end development technologies, including PHP, Vue (alternatively, React or Angular), and Sass to deliver bespoke software solutions.

You will be conversant with object-oriented principles and have exposure to popular PHP development frameworks, such as Laravel.

You will have experience designing, building, and documenting RESTful APIs, following industry standards.

You will have a solid understanding of best practices regarding security, accessibility, and usability in a software development context.

Experience working as part of a multi-disciplined team in an Agile environment is beneficial, as is experience using project tracking tools, such as Jira.

You will possess excellent analytical skills and have a high degree of attention to detail. You will be able to take initiative when needed and can collaborate with a broad range of both technical and non-technical users throughout the University.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6,  £37,099 - £44,263 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
