The University of Sheffield International College is seeking an academic tutor to teach in our Pre-Masters and International Foundation year in Law, Social Science and/or Humanities modules. The post holder will be part of the College’s Social Science and Humanities Team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- The post holder will be responsible for teaching Level 3 or Level 6 modules delivered to groups of international students. The teaching role includes marking assessments and the provision of feedback to students.
- The successful candidate will have advanced IT skills used in the administration of teaching, including the use of VLEs, excel, word, power point, etc.
- The post holder will also act as a module coordinator. This involves leading the teaching team, carrying out Quality Assurance procedures, and ensuring that teaching materials are up to date.
- The role also requires the creation of both formative and summative assessments.
- The successful candidate will have a flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- They should also be able to work flexibly as part of a busy team, contribute in meetings, communicate effectively with colleagues, and work to deadlines.
ABOUT YOU
- A PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant subject or equivalent
- Experience of teaching Law in UK Higher Education, and experience of teaching Social Science or Humanities in Further Education or Sixth form, or equivalent teaching experience in a related field Experience of writing and marking assessments at a minimum of RQF level 3 (A-level/ Foundation level) or equivalent experience
