£33,309 - £39,739 (Grade 5)

We are currently looking for a Skills Enhancement Tutor in Psychology to join our School of Applied Sciences for a period of 12 months. You will become a valued member of the Psychology team, teaching a range of core BPS academic themes.

Staff and postgraduate students in the Psychology subject group are involved in a range of research and teaching areas such as Developmental, Forensic Psychology, Applied Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, and Occupational and Work Psychology. As a new member of teaching staff the university will support you working fellowship with the Higher Education Academy (HEA). The role

As a Psychology Skills Enhancement Tutor, you will contribute to the active learning, teaching, and assessment of students within Psychology. You will organise, co-ordinate, deliver, and assess on relevant programmes offered across the subject area. You will undertake appropriate administrative tasks relevant to the post; this may include work associated with examinations, assessment, and tutoring. You will ensure that content, methods of delivery, and learning materials will support the defined learning outcomes. You will assess the work and progress of students by reference to defined criteria and provide constructive feedback to students.

Who we are looking for

You will have completed or be close to completion of a post-graduate degree in a relevant subject, we welcome applications from all areas of psychology. If you do not already hold a teaching qualification, you should be willing to work towards one. You will have recent experience of working in an applied setting with the knowledge required to teach and support students in the acquisition of practical skills relevant to the subject matter.

Salary: £33,309 - £39,739 (Grade 5)
