Digital Services are responsible for the digital information, systems and technologies used by staff and students across The Open University.  Covering all aspects of digital technology at the OU, from sourcing and maintaining systems, through to providing frontline IT support for staff and students.

The role

The IT Department within Digital Services are seeking 2 enthusiastic and motivated SharePoint Systems Developers to support, maintain and develop SharePoint Online at The Open University.

This will entail the support and administration of SharePoint, providing advice and guidance to its users. The Team also builds business applications using the Power Platform tools (including PowerApps, Power Automate and Power BI) and is responsible for process automation.

Although this role is aligned to our Milton Keynes office, we are flexible on location across the UK, with the understanding of occasional ad-hoc attendance onsite.

Skills and experience

This role will suit you if you:

  • Possess experience in systems administration, development and operations.
  • Are experienced in using SharePoint Online with the ability to record and analyse information and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Possess a good understanding of analysing requirements for developing and using Power Platform technologies including process automation.
  • Are confident in working independently, as well as part of a team, possessing the ability to prioritise effectively.
