In September 2017, USW was awarded the current contract to deliver school- and community-based counselling to all Newport City Council schools. The contract runs until July 2022 with the option of renewal for a further two years. This is the second contract USW has held to deliver this service, and it builds on a successful partnership with Newport City Council over the last 10 years. The activity is significant in supporting recruitment and course quality by through the provision of high quality placements for students on courses including the BA Counselling and Therapeutic Practice, MA/PG Diploma Counselling Children and Young People, and the MA Art Psychotherapy.
