Senior Technical Officer for Combustion Rigs

We welcome applications from passionate, skilled, committed, prospective individuals to join our team at Cranfield University to contribute to experimental gas turbine low emissions combustion research.

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide technical expertise in the design, operation, and maintenance of experimental facilities within the Gas Turbine Engineering Laboratories with special focus in the fields of combustion, high-pressure high temperature high-mass flow rigs. The role will involve being the first point of contact for analysis, problem solving, and faults finding in a test rig supporting contract research.

About You

You will be educated to HNC/D and/or an apprenticeship in an engineering discipline. You will have significant experience in mechanical engineering including assembly, maintenance and operation of engine components, with knowledge in Health and Safety for industrial installation and risk assessment. Skills such as mechanical components assembly, pipework installation, work plan development and execution are required. You are expected to be capable of working under tight timelines and leading small group of technicians.
