About us:

The School of Engineering have a vacancy for an Automotive Power Generation Technician to join the wider technical team.  The post will be based on the university’s Frenchay campus within brand new Engineering facilities, which include two engine test cells and a rolling road. This post is student facing and provides expert technical instruction and support to academics, students and researchers.  It is an exciting opportunity to join this enthusiastic team delivering high quality engineering education at UWE.

About you:

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of petrol and diesel combustion engines, and an understanding of the developments in hybrid and electrical power technology.  Ideally you will have experience of teaching or mentoring, which is a key part of the role, and be comfortable and confident demonstrating systems and equipment groups and individuals.  You will enjoy problem solving and be enthusiastic about automotive power generation, with an inquisitive and collaborative attitude toward learning.  You may be asked to design, make and assemble test equipment; and although well supported by others in the technical team, to work on tasks autonomously and without direct supervision.

This is a permanent post and is full time working 37 hours per week.  This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
