The Postgraduate Education and Development team in the Cambridge Centre for Teaching and Learning (CCTL) fosters postgraduate students' collaborative capabilities, developing independence and personal effectiveness. We work in partnership across the collegiate University to design and coordinate a diverse programme of activities and resources for postgraduate researchers and are the University's central hub for postgraduate development. We seek an experienced and creative and colleague to join our team as a Senior Teaching Associate in Researcher Development at this exciting time as we review our current portfolio and develop new initiatives.
In this role you will build on your previous experience as a researcher developer to contribute to the continued delivery, development and evaluation of current initiatives, workshops and resources for postgraduate students. You will bring strengths in learning design and facilitation (both face-to-face and online) plus relevant experience, knowledge and creativity to provide effective development for postgraduate students. You will have the initiative, independence and organisational skills to manage multiple projects, prioritizing appropriately to meet strategic objectives. Working as a member of a busy and committed team and representing and promoting researcher development within the academic community, the ability to plan, negotiate and work productively with others is key.
You will also have knowledge and experience of interpreting and responding to the requirements of research funding bodies and other external stakeholders as well as an understanding of local and national CPD frameworks such as the Researcher Development Concordat. An ability to collaborate effectively and build strong working relationships with colleagues within CCTL and with cognate professional services and across the academic University, including with CDTs and DTPs as appropriate, will be key.
A PhD or equivalent demonstrable experience is essential and background in the life sciences is desirable. A postgraduate certificate in teaching and learning in HE (or equivalent) and/or FHEA is desirable. You should have personal experience of the benefits of researcher development and have worked on the design, delivery and evaluation of development activities, preferably within a higher education environment. We are particularly interested in developing our offer in the areas of leadership, creativity and enterprise, so experience in these areas is desirable.

This role is part of the Academic Career Pathways scheme for Teaching & Scholarship staff and is offered at 1.0 FTE. CCTL is located in the Student Services Centre, in central Cambridge. The role holder will be based in Cambridge and will join CCTL colleagues on site, normally for at least three days each week.
