The University has commenced an exciting project to replace all of its current access control systems and as a result we are recruiting additional fixed term team members to support the delivery of both the project and the development of all other services undertaken by the Security Access Systems Team based in the Card Office on the Plymouth Campus.

Our team members are vital in administering all processes that enable us to keep our buildings safe, secure and operational. They are proactive, friendly and diligent and work hard to contribute to the success of the University, no matter what the day brings.  As part of a close knit and loyal team, you will be involved in all aspects of maintaining building access systems and other administrative services including SharePoint development and parking permit allocation.

You need to be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and working to tight deadlines.  An aptitude for diagnostics and fault finding on both hardware and software are essential. You must have GCSE’s in Maths and English, or equivalent, with clear and accurate verbal and written communication skills.  An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Outlook/Excel and in-depth working knowledge of bespoke software packages/databases is also required. Experience of access control systems and web page development is desirable.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, 8.00 – 16.00 Monday to Thursday, 15.30 Fridays on a fixed-term basis until 31 December 2024.

The role will require the postholder to work from campus each day and is not conducive with working remotely.
