The Faculty of Psychology at the University of Vienna comprises, beside the Dean’s office and the StudyServiceCenter, four Departments and the Outpatient Unit for Research, Teaching, and Practice.

We seek to fill a position for a Senior Scientist (Praedoc, 30 hours/week).

The main area of responsibility for this position will be the new Biochemical Laboratory of the professorship of Clinical Psychology of Adulthood, which has to be supervised from two different locations (Liebiggasse 5, 1010 Vienna, as well as Viehmarktgasse 2c, Campus Vienna Biocenter 2, 1030 Vienna).

The position is temporary for the duration of a maternity leave replacement.

Your personal sphere of influence:

As Senior Scientist Praedoc you will work as part of an experienced team at the Department of Clinical And Health Psychology. You will carry out laboratory work independently as well as part of a team.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You contribute to and supervise ongoing projects and project staff.
  • You take on administrative tasks in research and teaching (e.g. processing of expense allowances, creation and management of study materials).
  • You create and edit SOPs.

This is part of your personality:

  • Completed Master’s degree or diploma in the field of Psychology and/or Cognitive Science.
  • Strong motivation to engage in research in the field of clinical psychology of adulthood, especially in the field of stress.
  • Very good knowledge of quantitative methods of analysis and ability to present and process research questions in a structured way.
  • Good user expertise in MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Experience in planning and conducting Ecological Momentary Assessment studies.
  • High ability to express yourself both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • You like to work accurately, conscientiously, self-reliantly, in a structured manner, like to find solutions and are willing to learn. You are a team player, have good social and communication skills and a high sense of responsibility.

Fair salary: The basic salary (full time) according to the classification of the collective bargaining agreement in the B1 salary group amounts to EUR 3.578,80. This amount increases if we can credit professional experience (see Salary scheme ).
