Senior Scientist role for new Environment and Climate Research Hub at the University of Vienna

We're looking for a dynamic, diplomatic and strategic thinker at the postdoctoral level to set up and shape the University of Vienna's new Environment and Climate Research Hub. The Hub is a new cross-cutting initiative established by the University of Vienna in 2022, which will connect excellent researchers from different disciplines within and beyond the University of Vienna. 

As Senior Scientist you will work closely with the two Hub leads (Thilo Hofmann und Sabine Pahl) and the management and advisory boards to identify core research questions and work with different research groups to create a critical mass and momentum, to foster excellent, integrated and impact-focused research. You will actively contribute to developing new research proposals and look for funding opportunities. You will coordinate the activities of the hub as well as strategically guide our dissemination activities to increase visibility.

With a good understanding of scientific, empirical research, your home discipline is not a deciding factor.

This position (40 hours/week) is initially for a 6-year period. The possibility of being made permanent depends on the performance of the hub and strategic decisions by the university. The post starts on 1st of November 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter. The standard starting salary is EUR 4,061.50 gross per month with two bonus payments as standard, but could be higher based on your expertise and experience.
