The Laboratory of Algal, Systems, and Synthetic Biology in the Division of Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Senior Research Scientist to work on a large-scale genome sequencing project and high throughput interactome mapping.

The successful applicant will drive a fascinating project on de novo sequencing and assembly of macroalgae genomes and computational analyses of protein-protein interactions in cyanobacteria. The goal of these projects is to reveal the coding potential and evolutionary adaptive strategies of photosynthetic organisms. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology or a related field.  Excellent experimental and computational skills relevant to the project (in particular genomics and bioinformatics) are required.

The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children.
