Grade 8: £41,526 - £54,131 per annum full-time equivalent

A position is available for a highly motivated Senior Research Nurse to join the Paediatric Neuroimaging Group in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Oxford. The successful applicant will contribute to research led by Dr Caroline Hartley, which focuses on understanding the impact of apnoea on premature infant brain development. They will also work with Prof. Rebeccah Slater, who's research focuses on understanding the neonatal response to noxious stimuli.

The successful candidate will hold a key role in the day to day running of the clinical research studies, supporting the research team and students. You will be responsible for screening and identification of eligible infants, obtaining informed consent, performing the research studies, including performing EEG recordings and clinically required minor procedures, and the processing of study documentation. You will provide leadership, management and support to colleagues, and provide supervision and training to support the research team in delivering high quality research. The appointed individual will be expected to work flexibly and provide clinical guidance for the development of new research studies.

You will be a registered nurse with experience in neonatal care. You will also have experience of working in research, with ICH-GCP training. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, and evidence of the ability to lead and support other members of the team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable interest in human brain development and have previous experience with EEG recordings.

The post is part-time (8 hours per week) and fixed-term until 31st October 2022 in the first instance.
