Fixed Term 11 months
We are looking for an outstanding candidate to work closely with collaborators based in Uganda to run a successful project investigating antibiotic usage, consumption, and resistance in the community in Uganda. The project is set in the community in Kampala, Uganda studying the causes and treatment of urinary tract infections. The role is for an initial 11 months which will involve preparing clinical research forms, protocols and surveys and submitting to ethics boards. Also identifying facilitators and barriers for engagement of pharmacists and patients into the study.
Key attributes of the successful applicant include:
- A strong background in social science work, ideally in low- and middle- income countries
- Strategic thinking and the ability to contribute to protocols and surveys
- Supervisory skills and willingness to work with the social science and team of investigators in Uganda and the UK
- Ability and willingness to travel, including to LMICs
- Excellent communication skills with a variety of stakeholders in global health
