This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Research Fellow to join UCL, providing oversight for ongoing research projects within the Centre for Behavioural Medicine. The role will mostly involve work across three NIHR funded projects: to improve adherence in breast cancer (SWEET); to improve the detection and treatment of latent TB (RID-TB); and to improve antibiotic stewardship (INHALE). The Senior Research Fellow will provide oversight and will support Research Assistants / Research Fellows / students working on these projects.

The role will also involve data analysis, preparing publications and submitting grant applications. The role is based in the Centre for Behavioural Medicine (CBM) in the School of Pharmacy, within the Faculty of Life Sciences. Ranked No.1 in London and No. 8 in the World for Life Sciences and Medicine (QS Rankings 2020), the Faculty is one of the largest in UCL with over 900 staff and over 3,500 students and a diverse portfolio of research and teaching.

The CBM is the main focus for behavioural medicine within the UCL School of Pharmacy. Led by Professor Rob Horne, the CBM’s research focuses on making healthcare more efficient by understanding and addressing the psychological and behavioural factors explaining variation in response to treatment.

This post is funded from 1st November 2021 until 30th October 2022 in the first instance.

To deliver this role effectively you will need PhD in Health Psychology or Behavioural Medicine and experience of working as a postdoc or equivalent. You will have in-depth knowledge of intervention development and experience and expertise in the field of adherence.  You will have in-depth knowledge of behavioural science theories and experience of research project management. You will have experience of supervising Research Assistants and students and will have excellent research skills covering both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. You must have substantial experience.
