The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is seeking a Senior Research Development Manager to work proactively alongside academic colleagues to support a step-change in the Faculty's ability to successfully win research funding across the spectrum of funders for arts and humanities research. The Faculty works across the arts, heritage, creative and cultural sectors and has a particular focus on exploring what is possible at the interface of the arts, science, and technology.

You will identify opportunities arising from funding calls and intelligence about funder priorities, and in close partnership with academic leads provide support and manage the preparation and submission process for major research projects identified as of high strategic importance to the Faculty. Your contribution will combine insight on funder expectations, provision of information and analysis, drafting of bids, and managing the submission process. You will need to be able to coordinate and work collaboratively with a diverse stakeholder group of academics and other professional services colleagues, and effectively manage the flow of information between all institutions involved in bids. After successfully winning research awards, you will oversee the implementation of the strategic and operational requirements of research projects, including leading the planning and coordination of funded research administration support.

In partnership with the Associate Dean (Research) and other members of the Faculty leadership team, you will provide assessment and analysis of issues, trends and challenges that support the achievement of the Faculty research strategy, as well as being a lead voice for the Faculty on university-wide research policy and process development.

You will also be responsible for providing leadership and line management to two Research and Enterprise Officers (one focused on research impact, the other on knowledge exchange and enterprise activity), and two additional research administration roles.
