We have an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Researcher for a role of Senior Research Associate in Systems Biology of Metabolism to join a dynamic research lead by Prof. Markus Ralser, part of the Centre of Human Genetics at the Nuffield Department of Medicine.

You will be responsible for developing research questions within the context of metabolic cooperation in eukaryotics systems, conducting individual research using proteomics and metabolomics, analysing functional omics data as well as complex qualitative and/or quantitative data from a variety of sources, and generating original ideas by building on existing concepts. You will regularly write research articles at a national level for peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and reviews together with presenting papers. You will manage and organise project activities and contribute to the planning and coordination of research activities related to the project. Additionally, you will conduct original research and carry out collaborative projects with colleagues in partner institutions and research groups.

It is essential that you hold a relevant PhD/DPhil in biological sciences, biochemistry, bioinformatics or another related subject with post-qualification research experience. You will have expertise in research and laboratory techniques relevant to biochemistry/microbiology/molecular biology together with experience of proteomics and/or metabolomics data generation and analysis. You will have excellent communication skills, strong publication record and ability to independently plan and manage a research project. Having experience with working with microbial communities and metabolism is desirable.
