Duties and Responsibilities

This post is based in the Population, Policy and Practice Programme, one of five scientific research

programmes at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health.

The post is funded by a new multi-institutional research programme with a focus on policy. Funding

is available for 5 years, although this post will initially be offered for 1 year extending to 3-5 years on

agreement from funders. The aim of the post is to coordinate, support and contribute to the

activities of the programme across 4 partners: ICH and another UCL department and two other

research institutions.

The post holder will be responsible for the operational running of the programme, accountable to its

Director. He/She will work with investigators to project manage the overall research programme,

and will also have responsibility for contributing to delivery of specific research objectives.

Key Requirements

The person appointed will be an experienced researcher with an interest in obesity research and

with proven research management skills.

Applicants should have a PhD in epidemiology, statistics, or other relevant public health science or

health-relevant domain, or equivalent level of attainment. Extensive research experience of large

data sets and secondary data analysis using standard software packages (e.g. Stata) is essential.

Experience of managing multiple research projects and of project management in a higher education

or other relevant environment is desirable.
