The role

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with talent, expertise and ambition to develop applied research based on routinely collected healthcare data. You will be based within the National Institute for Health Research Bristol Biomedical Research Centre (NIHR Bristol BRC) working closely with the team at Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (BNSSG CCG) as a ‘Researcher in Residence’ embedded in the Modelling and Analytics team.

What will you be doing?

You will be working with colleagues across the University and the CCG to analyse routinely collected health care data, exploring how our available data resources can be used to improve patient care and public health in the region. You will answer questions of interest spanning applied health research, regional Population Health Management, and NHS business analytics.

You should apply if

  • You have a good understanding of medical statistics and epidemiology, knowledge and experience of statistical software, the ability to assess concepts and theories and develop original solutions, and be willing to work at pace to answer high priority policy-relevant research questions.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels (including with health professionals, academic researchers, technicians, administrators and members of the public)

Contract type: Open ended with funding for 2 years

Shift pattern: 100% time
