£34,304 to £40,927 per annum, pro rata for part-time

The Health Economics Group at Norwich Medical School seeks to recruit a collaborative and motivated Senior Research Associate to contribute to the Group’s research profile. This post is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a number of National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded projects evaluating a range of interventions for different conditions in collaboration with Clinical Trial Units and collaborators across a number of Universities.

The post holder will contribute to the economic analysis and write up of a variety of projects.  Key to the post will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to ensure analysis is pertinent and tailored to each study.

The successful candidate will:

  • Identify unit costs for the resources used and use these to value the resources used in the trials using individual level data;
  • Value health outcomes, including Quality Adjusted Life Years;
  • Undertake incremental cost effectiveness analyses;
  • Contribute to the development of an economic model
  • Explore various sensitivity analyses, including the handling of any missing data;
  • Contribute to the write-up and presentation of the study results through a range of mediums but including academic publication.

The post is ideally suited to an individual with a background in health economics, or similar field with a major quantitative component. Applicants should be familiar with methods of health economic evaluation as it is expected that a number of these projects will be completing over the 2-year duration of this post.  As such this is an ideal post for someone looking to gain experience analysing and publishing research as a way to grow their career.

This is a fixed term post with funding until 31 July 2024, extension beyond this is subject to further external funding being secured.
