The University of Nottingham is a research-intensive university with campuses in three countries, in Nottingham in the UK, in Ningbo in China and in Semenyih in Malaysia. We have over 48000 students across all three campuses and more than 8000 staff in the UK alone.  We have ambitious plans to improve quality across a range of activities: Education, Research, People as well as Economic and Environmental Sustainability, and to be in the top quartile in the sector for most of these activities by 2027/28. To support that ambition, the Planning, Performance & Strategic Change (PPSC) team is bringing together several functions to directly support business planning, strategy, programme management and governance processes.  As part of this evolution, we’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the team.

As Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Support and promote the delivery of the University’s Strategic Change Portfolio, a collection of key strategic projects and programmes which deliver major change.
  • Work with a wide range of stakeholders to enable projects and programmes to deliver the identified outputs, outcomes, and benefits.
  • Focus on ensuring the projects and programmes in scope provide value for money and underpin the University’s strategic ambition.

 You will be:

  • Experienced in managing and coordinating projects and change, with a sound understanding of project management methodologies and techniques.
  • Able to quickly establish your credibility and form positive and sound working relationships, interacting with a divergent mix of people and personalities.
  • An effective communicator, able to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels.
  • A strong planner, able to organise and motivate teams.
  • Able to work accurately and efficiently under pressure managing your time effectively, delivering results in time and to a high standard.

 What’s in it for you?

  • A dynamic, fast paced, innovative team environment.
  • The support you need to nurture your talent, develop and reach your professional and personal career goals.
  • Competitive employment packages whilst supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential
  • Discounted access to fitness and health facilities and travel schemes
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Attractive pension scheme

This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
