We are seeking a motivated Senior Production Scientist in the Viral Vector Core Facility at the Jenner Institute, located within the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Physiology

Reporting to the VVCF manager, you will be a senior member of a production facility with responsibility for production of viral vectored vaccines for the Jenner Institute.  Your main activity for this role will be laboratory work producing viral vectored vaccines for members of the Jenner Institute. This will involve taking responsibility for scheduling the work and producing the poxvirus and adenoviral vectors and ensuring they are tested to meet the high standards expected by our scientists.

It is essential that you have a BSc in biological sciences with prior laboratory experience in molecular biology (use of DNA manipulation software, primer design, PCR, cloning, plasmid and BAC preparation, RE digest, DNA sequencing). Prior laboratory experience in cell culture (primary cell culture, cell line culture (suspension and adherent, mycoplasma testing, maintenance of cell bank) will also be needed. A good working knowledge of virus propagation and quantification is required. You will need an accurate and systematic approach to the planning and documentation of experimental work in a high-throughput environment. The ability to organize work-time efficiently and deliver high quality results to a deadline is essential.
