An opportunity has arisen in the Planning and Student Management Information team within our Student & Academic Services directorate.

The post will support the achievement of the Aston Strategy 2018 to 2023, through the provision of high quality and responsive management information reporting across Aston University. The post holder will be responsible for producing timely and high-quality analysis and will work closely with Senior Management, Academic Colleges and a range of professional support staff, both within Aston and across the sector, in order to ensure that the data and reporting needs of the University are met.
You will have specific responsibility for supporting the data and reporting needs of high profile statutory workstreams including the HESA Student Return, the National Student Survey (NSS), the Access and Participation Plan, TRAC and Student Staff Ratio reporting. You will also be responsible for the maintenance, development and audit of the current University reporting tool.
The successful candidate will be an advanced user of data records and management information systems, with experience of working with Business Intelligence Tools and data visualisation. As you will be developing reporting that will be used by a range of stakeholders across the University, analytical ability as well as attention to detail and accuracy are critical skills for this role. You will be able to work flexibly and productively, both as part of a team and as an individual; and be able to work under pressure to tight time scales. The ability to work effectively with colleagues, particularly with regard to driving quality and development in management information reporting, is also essential. Experience in the Higher Education sector, and of SITS, are both desirable.
Anonymous shortlisting will be carried out for this role as part of Aston University’s commitment to equality and diversity and ensuring a fair and consistent approach to recruitment. Personal details that are included on application forms, including the candidate’s name and address will not be disclosed to the shortlisting panel.
