If you are enthusiastic about providing a customer-focussed service and helping students make the most of the resources they have access to, we have an excellent opportunity for you. We are recruiting for a Senior Library Assistant to work as part of the team that provides support to student and staff at Henley Business School. This role will require the ability to work across both our campuses, which are in Reading, and just outside Henley-on-Thames.

Key responsibilities for this role will be providing support to staff and students onsite in our libraries, as well as ensuring online usage is supported and promoted. You will work in a frontline capacity mainly based in our vibrant Whiteknights campus.

You will have:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) for team working, student interaction, and customer care
  • Working knowledge of library databases and the ability to learn how to utilise and promote new ones
  • Experience of working in a library and dealing with library users
  • The ability to take on a supervisory role and to interpret procedures and policies for others
  • Experience in teaching others to use databases, and of organising training sessions
  • A customer focused outlook, with the ability to be friendly and welcoming and to ensure high levels of care
