We are now looking for a Senior Lecturer: Teacher Education to join Yr Athrofa, part of the Institute of Education and Humanities, in Swansea or Carmarthen as part of the Athrofa Professional Learning Partnership (APLP).

- THE ROLE -

As a Senior Lecturer: Teacher Education, you will act as a key leader to the APLP and will take responsibility for the strategic leadership of its governance boards alongside partner schools.

Leading the APLP mentoring model, you will contribute to the development of teacher education and provide teaching and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

You will offer teaching in a variety of learning settings, design and develop teaching materials, assessments and criteria, and supervise the work of students.

- ABOUT YOU -

To be considered as a Senior Lecturer: Teacher Education, you will need:

- Evidence of a contribution to education research theory and practice

- Knowledge of, and engagement with, the school and community education sector in Wales

- Evidence of appropriate engagement with quality assurance and regulatory requirements

- Effective interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

- Leadership skills and experience in the field of education and, where appropriate, the ability to manage and motivate staff effectively

- The ability to work under pressure and to deal with competing demands

- Personal academic and professional credibility and achievement

- An honours degree and a higher-level postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline

- A teaching qualification
