Salary:

Lecturer: £37,099 to £44,263 per annum

Senior Lecturer: £45,585 to £54,395 per annum

This post will contribute to the future direction and curriculum of BA Film and Moving Image Production and will have a role in developing and delivering innovative teaching. The role involves working closely with the Course Leader and Programme Director to strengthen the collaborative links with other courses and with industry.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate currency through their own film industry experience and have knowledge of the technical and creative demands of working on fiction, documentary and commercial filmmaking. Experience in cinematography and/or production design is essential. Experience of collaboration between film production departments is highly desirable, including technical aspects such as camera work and studio operation, lighting, audio and sound, video and post-production and editing. It is advantageous for candidates to have a good understanding of future trends, content and theme influences, new technologies and media strategies within the film and high-end television industry.

You will be an advocate for responsible and inclusive practices with an ability to foster a climate of success through debate and co-creation of learning. You will be a champion for promoting diversity and equality in the film and high-end television industry. You will have the ability to be an engaging, supportive and inclusive teacher who can deliver innovative and engaging on-campus and digital teaching sessions.

You will be a strong team player able to demonstrate excellent skills in team-working, organisation and management.

The appointment will be made at either Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We welcome applications from those currently working in education as well as industry-based professionals whom we can support in the development of their academic career.
