Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in the Centre for Civil Society and Governance (Ref.: 515556), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree preferably in a Social Sciences or related disciplines. They should have at least 3 years’ relevant teaching experience at tertiary and professional level, or a combination of 3 years of teaching and working experience, in Sustainable Development, Environmental Governance and Policy, Sustainable Value Chain, Green Finance, or Corporate Sustainability. Applicants with at least 8 years of teaching experience at tertiary and professional level, or a combination of 8 years of teaching and professional/project management experience in related areas with demonstrated academic leadership and/or strong linkage with the industry will be considered for the appointment of Senior Lecturer.  Preference will be given to those who are accredited professionals with Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting related accreditations. These may include, but not limited to, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Professional Certification, Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) Certificate, European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS). 

The appointee will contribute to the overall teaching and action research effectiveness in a wide spectrum of sustainability-related activities at the Centre for Civil Society and Governance, and be responsible for curriculum planning and development, validation and accreditation of new and/or existing programmes, and teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He/She will also participate in research and action projects, support the work of the Academy for Sustainable Communities established under the Centre, and perform other teaching and research-related duties as assigned by the Director.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At the current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable for Senior Lecturer.
