The Department of Operations, Technology, Events and Hospitality Management is an ambitious, large, and diverse department within the Business School. With over 1,500 students and 55 academic staff, the department delivers a wide range of courses covering undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and commercial programmes, including the sector-leading degree apprenticeships programme – Digital & Technology Solutions.

We are looking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Business Information Systems to help deliver high quality teaching and learning across a range of subjects for the degree/postgraduate programmes in the department and the Business School, including BSc Business Technology and Digital & Technology Solutions degree apprenticeship. 

This role is full time and permanent, working a 37-hour week.

About You

You will:

  • be able to teach and provide academic leadership on our programmes and contribute to the ongoing development of these dynamic subject areas including specialism in two or more of these areas: IS strategy, enterprise systems, data management, IT consultancy, digital business transformation, strategic outsourcing, enterprise system or business analysis.
  • having an understanding at least in one of the following: UML, SAP Hana and Blockchain is desirable.
  • have experience of teaching in a higher education setting, and experience of Unit/Module Leadership (unit/module design, unit/module management, assessment, quality assurance) is desirable.
  • experience of supervising students on digital business projects, ideally developed in collaboration with industry partners is desirable
