Salary

Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £54,003 to £60,192 per annum with potential progression up to to £75,238 per annum

About the Role

As sustainability becomes an increasingly critical area of business management, the School of Management is recruiting a senior faculty member to join its growing Sustainability Group, to contribute to an ambitious research agenda, and an extensive teaching programme that embeds sustainability into the School’s masters level and executive education. We are seeking a colleague who is genuinely motivated by the opportunity to achieve better outcomes for society and our natural world by influencing and changing ‘the business of business.’ You will have a vision for how organizations can, and should, respond to the urgent social and environmental challenges facing society, the ability to communicate that vision, lead change and make things happen quickly, and a determination to succeed which is grounded in a personal purpose aligned to this role. You should also be enthusiastic about engaging with senior managers and bring either prior industry experience and/or experience in executive education to the role.

You will have the opportunity to progress your research and scholarship in this field.  This post will be offered on either an Education & Scholarship career pathway, or a Research & Teaching career pathway depending on your track record, focus and preference.

About You

You will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject, with expertise in the field of sustainability as it relates to the management of organizations. You will have a publication record commensurate with career stage, and familiarity with the existing literature and research in a relevant field. You will be able to demonstrate an awareness of pedagogic methods and your ability to be an effective teacher of Masters level and executive students; supervising MSc and PhD dissertations; undertaking student assessments; and engaging with MSc students with diverse backgrounds including those with critical perspectives on the role of private enterprise. You will display evidence of sufficient depth and breadth of knowledge in the subject to develop new course materials and you will have experience of, and an aptitude for supporting individual students in making the most of their studies, preferably at Masters level.
