Leeds Trinity University is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to lead on the new MA Social Work programme. Situated within the growing Faculty of Health, Wellness and Life Sciences, the programme has been designed to support local, regional, and national workforce demands and help shape the future social work workforce. As a Senior Lecturer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design, delivery and evaluation of the social work curriculum and be involved in teaching across the entire social work and family support portfolio, enabling our students to have clear understanding of the required values, knowledge, and skills to effectively and professionally support children and their families to overcome the challenges they face.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of student education, within a university or social work setting, and be prepared to teach broadly across the spectrum of social work and social care programmes within the faculty. You will have demonstrable knowledge, experience, and skills within the field of Social Work education and hold a Postgraduate degree in a related subject area, or equivalent. You will need to be a current registrant with Social Work England (SWE). In addition, you will provide pastoral and subject student support, supervise projects and placements, and undertake administrative and managerial tasks associated with the above. You will also undertake research/knowledge exchange and/or professional practice and scholarship commensurate with the post to which you are appointed.

You will be motivated, pro-active and engage with collaborative working both as a team member and with wider partners. We aim to ensure that we equip our students with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such, we not only focus on the acquisition of caring skills and knowledge, but also on vital transferable skills such as compassionate leadership and robust digital and technology skills.
