The role
We are seeking to appoint a new Senior Lecturer who can contribute to the following tasks/roles and research areas:
- To fulfil research, teaching and administration duties as a Senior Lecturer in the field of plant biology.
- To collaborate with colleagues both within the Department, the Faculty and the University of Exeter as a whole, to develop and support research programmes in plant biology that align with the University’s strategic goals of sustainability and health.
- To extend the research profile of Biosciences, especially in the area of Plant Biology by attracting and supervising postdoctoral researchers and postgraduate research students.
- To contribute to the general operation of the Department and the Faculty as a member of its academic team.
- Applicants will also be expected to contribute to strategic planning within the Department and the Faculty.
About you
Applicants will have:
- A PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject and have an independent, internationally recognised research programme in Plant Biology
- A strong independent publication record
- Current funding for research and a strong record in attracting funding for research
- A strong track record of demonstrable research leadership
- An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research
- Enthusiasm for delivering high quality undergraduate programmes
- Ideally have strong connections and funded projects with business and community partners
- Involvement in projects which develop impact.
