The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Senior Lecturer to join the School of Law, which sits within the Faculty of Social Sciences and is part of a friendly, supportive academic community

Senior Lecturers are responsible for day-to-day operational administration and management (including line management) within the School. You will have teaching responsibilities, as well as having oversight of teaching provided by Lecturers, and be part of curriculum development, quality management and enhancement, and operational administration.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of our new LLB and LLM degree programmes which align with the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). Candidates should be highly motivated and committed to creating inventive, excellent learning environments for all of our students and be able to contribute meaningfully to our extra curricular offer such as the Debate Club and Arden Consumer Advice Clinic etc.

About You:

You will be qualified to at least postgraduate level in English Law. A PhD in Law and/or additional legal practice experience is welcome but not essential.

Ideally, you will hold FHEA or an equivalent teaching qualification. However, we are prepared to support the successful candidate in obtaining a recognised HE teaching Qualification and Advance HE Fellowship at the appropriate level.

You will need to have experience of leading curriculum development in higher education, as well as teaching across Levels 4 - 7. You will be able to demonstrate experience or readiness to undertake leadership and managerial activities to support teaching and learning.
