We are now looking for a Senior Lecturer in Law Criminology to join our team on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week.

THE ROLE

The Senior Lecturer in Law and Criminology will be located within the Institute of Management and Health. You will be under the line management of the Academic Directors (Blue Light Academy) and may be expected to take operational direction of a Programme (or Programmes) of Study at undergraduate and / or postgraduate level. You will be primarily concerned with learning and teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, and contributing to the Law and Criminology programmes which fall under IMH Swansea, which are underpinned by a professional focus on Law and Criminology and monitoring and evaluation of the programme(s), including offering academic leadership, support and guidance to a limited number of staff. You will be expected to programme manage the programmes, contribute to teaching and learning related to Law and Criminology, although will also contribute to the wider Law and Criminology portfolio.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered as a Senior Lecturer in Law Criminology, you will need:

  • A good honours degree in a relevant discipline
  • A relevant postgraduate/professional qualification and professional practice experience
  • Broad experience in teaching, delivery, assessment across a diverse student body in law and criminology
  • Evidence of undertaking a significant administrative role or position within an Academic Discipline, Institute or University
  • Experience of using e-resources including a willingness to teach by video-link, VLE or website delivery
  • Experience of using innovative approaches to learning and teaching
  • Proactive and innovative approach to create new learning opportunities
  • Ability to deliver and develop new opportunities at undergraduate level
  • Engagement in continuous professional development
  • Willingness to work flexibly to meet role requirements 

It would be beneficial if you also have:

  • Postgraduate teaching qualification
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • A PhD in a relevant discipline or a teaching qualification
  • Experience of academic programme accreditation Evidence of ongoing and successful scholarship, research, professional development or project work through publication and contract, grant or funding awards, professional or peer recognition or external impact
  • Evidence of providing academic leadership and supervision of others within an area of responsibility, such as a programme team or a collaborative project
  • Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh (oral and written).
