The Strategy, Operations, and Entrepreneurship (SOE) Group within the School has an international reputation for its cutting-edge research and education. The School is undertaking a major expansion of SOE’s teaching and research activities, accelerating its growth and development. We offer a range of exciting and creative postgraduate and undergraduate programmes with a strong emphasis on Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Innovation, International Business, International Marketing and Entrepreneurship

Duties of the Role

This appointment will enhance the educational and research profile of Essex Business School as one of the premier business schools in the UK.

The post-holder will contribute to the development of the Group and School through research and teaching in International Management. We welcome applications in any area of International Management, including, but not restricted to, International Marketing, Comparative and International HRM, Strategy, and Inter-Cultural Communication. This new post will strengthen yet further the recruitment of high-quality students, the experience of students on undergraduate and master’s programmes, and students’ employment prospects. The appointment will strengthen the Group’s and School’s research reputations by publishing excellent, impactful research and by gaining research income from external funders. The successful candidate will also help to mentor other colleagues to help them to improve their published work, research bids, and education that they provide to our students.

Skills and qualifications required

The successful candidate will hold a relevant doctoral level research degree or equivalent professional experience or practice and will have a have a good academic record, including internationally excellent research and success in securing and managing research grants. The successful candidate will have contributed to establishing effective organisational policies and/or strategies to support and promote others in delivering excellence in research and education, including enhancing the student experience and students’ employment prospects.

Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
