The School of Computer Science is in search of a seasoned lecturer or professional practitioner to spearhead our upcoming BSc Computer Science with Games Development programme. Launching in September 2024, this programme aims to cultivate graduates poised to thrive in the UK's expansive entertainment industry. They’ll guide students through their inaugural year in this programme, deliver crucial modules and play a central role in attracting prospective students.

The successful candidate will have a portfolio of technical skills accompanied by an extensive knowledge of the theory and practical application of modern computing techniques for the creation of computer games. They will deliver innovative teaching across a core programme of study in games development. We are looking for a candidate who can lead teaching and practice around core modules such as software development, games programming and artificial intelligence.

As we grow our Computer Science provision and move into having more of a presence in Leeds City Centre we have an exciting opportunity for new colleagues to join the lecturing team.  Initially, you will be based at Horsforth Campus, but it is expected you will relocate to the Leeds City Campus in the Academic Year 2024/25. Through our Agile working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.

We welcome applications from candidates who have a PhD (or who are close to completing their PhD) in Computing (or a closely related area of study) or who have an equivalent portfolio of experience. Applicants with a professional qualification with a chartered institute or professional body are welcome.

Closing date for applications: 3 April 2024. Interviews for this post are expected to take place on 19 and 22 April 2024.
