The Architecture, Construction & Environment Subject area portfolio of courses are cognate disciplines recognised as professional career pathways ‘responsible for planning, designing, constructing, modifying and maintaining healthy human spaces within the environments in which we inhabit’. These courses are design oriented and linked with creative and built environment industries in Gloucestershire and adjacent counties.

After a successful launch of the BA (Hons) Architecture course, in September 2021, achieving ARB prescription in October 2022 we are now looking to launch a new Masters in Architecture (M.Arch) programme in September 2025/26.

As Senior Lecturer (SL) you will work extensively, alongside colleagues in other cognate courses, including BA (Hons) Interior Architecture & Design, and BA & MA Landscape Architecture as well as with other courses within the Architecture, construction & environment department, School, and its Management Team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience of writing, developing, delivering, and  maintaining architecture curriculum, as well as contributing to the Urban Design and Interior architecture programmes.

The applicant should be able to teach design, professional practice, and technology and construction (with an emphasis on sustainability, decolonisation and other current issues), and be familiar with BIM, RIBA Plan of Work, and industry software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, and Sketchup.

We are interested in candidates who will work into the BA Architecture as a senior lecturer and who could lead the new M.Arch, upon launch. While the SL is permanent, the ACL role is a 3 rotation, and can be renewed.

To avoid disappointment apply early, should we find a suitable candidate we will close the advert.
