The key duties of the post holder will be to contribute to the teaching, delivery, development, research and administrative support of undergraduate and taught postgraduate Games Design and Programming, and other related programmes; including the academic and personal support of students.   In addition, you will be expected to contribute to the student recruitment and admissions of the Games Design and Programming.

Games Design and Programming Requirements.

Skills:

  • Excellent C++ and/or C# knowledge.
  • Strong mathematics and physics skills.
  • Strong object-orientated programming skills.
  • Experience working in Unity and/or Unreal 4.
  • Experience with implementing systems relating to artificial intelligence, procedural generation, or networking.
  • Strong debugging and problem solving skills.
  • Good understanding of implementing systems that conform with S.O.L.I.D principles.
  • The ability to compartmentalise and discuss complex programming subjects to make them easier to understand.

Professional Membership/Registration registration is an desirable requirement for this role along with a first degree and preferably a teaching qualification.   We are particularly interested in candidates with contemporary experience in Games Design and Programming.  A commitment to undertaking a PhD and membership of the Higher Education Academy is an essential requirement of the role.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a practical awareness of current developments in Games Design and Programming Education and be able to facilitate the creation and maintenance of a range of links between courses and the Relevant Professional sector.
