The above part-time (0.1FTE) post is available immediately within Clinical Education Development and Research (CEDAR) on a fixed term contract until the end of October 2024 as maternity cover on annualised hours.

The role

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to serve as Academic Lead for the LTC training delivered within the Low Intensity Portfolio within Cedar.

You will have responsibility for managing and monitoring the PWP LTC training which is delivered in accordance with the NHS-England commissioned national curriculum.

This senior role is located within CEDAR and will be responsible for operational administration, curriculum development, and quality management and enhancement (including accreditation / registration by relevant professional institutions where appropriate).  You will work with the Director of Portfolio and PGT Director to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accord with the College’s education strategy and implementing the External Affairs strategy. You will also contribute directly to teaching in one or more of the disciplinary areas within CEDAR and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across CEDAR and the College.  

Specific Purposes of the job: 

  • Lead on the development and delivery of the Programme in line with the curriculum
  • Lead and oversee the assessment strategy including module descriptors, marking process in line with TQA
  • Moderate assessments across the programme
  • Support and mentor programme team members
  • Lead on recruitment alongside with the support of the Clinical and Academic Leads
  • Provide teaching as needed
  • Support the Director of Portfolio with strategic and commissioning developments
  • Contribute to regional and national committees as needed
  • Contribute to CEDAR and college working groups and developments as needed
  • Promote the programme at regional and national level

About you

For a Senior Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PGCert/Level 6 qualification in Low Intensity CBT or above.
  • Possess core knowledge and competency relating to the PWP role to teach and support learning and development of clinical competency.
  • Be an experienced senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with clinical experience in practice.
  • Have successfully completed the PWP LTC training and have significant clinical experience supporting people with co-existing LTCs and common mental health difficulties
  • Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels and/or as an experienced learning mentor within Psychological Wellbeing Practice as might be expected of an experienced HE Teacher/Teaching Mentor in service.
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
  • Be expected to work towards Senior Fellow of the HEA and attend formal CPD relating to this.
