We now have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Senior Information Assistant to join the Information and Operations team within Information Services. Information Services combines Library and IT functions that bring together a range of expert skills to support the schools in their teaching and research activities. This role is critical to the successful delivery of a responsive, high quality customer centric experience for our Staff and Students.
The University is continuing to make a significant investment in its IT and digital services provision to ensure the delivery of a consistent, high-quality IT and services across the University. Information Services provide innovative and reliable IT and Library services which are continually being adapted to meet the changing needs of the staff and students in a rapidly changing technology environment.
The Information & Operations team, work as a part of wider Library Team, within Information Services and assists students, staff and guests in their use of the University’s broad range of technologies and library services, helping them work smarter, faster and easier.
The role
The role of the Senior Information Assistant is to ensure efficient and effective delivery of day-to-day Library services to students, staff, researchers, and external members.
The Senior Information Assistant works in an agile and flexible customer-focused team that supports all Library Services activities, supervising and coordinating the work of Information Assistants.
You will manage and coordinate work of Library Help Desk, providing a comprehensive and knowledgeable frontline library enquiry service and be able to answer a broad range of enquiries, face-to-face, online and by phone. Support library customers with the use of broad range of library and IT technologies and services.
Who We Are Looking For
Our ideal candidate will also have experience of working in a library service team within a large and complex user environment to achieve a high standard of service delivered.
Candidates will be excellent communicators, with experience of handling customers enquiries face to face, telephone and electronically and will have experience of using a library and service management system.
Key to this position are strong customer focus, supervisory experience, along with a good working knowledge of common Library and IT applications, internet and digital information services.
