The Senior Government and Public Affairs Manager works to maintain and develop The Open University in Ireland’s relationships with politicians, civil servants and other external stakeholders in order to influence public policy and funding priorities set by the Northern Irish Assembly and the Oireachtas Éireann.

Part of an integrated Marketing and Communications team, you will support the Director in Ireland to manage government relations, strategic and media communications, issues management and policy development that furthers the interests of the University and its students in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

You will work closely with the Directorate and Senior Management Team in Ireland, the Government & External Affairs team in Milton Keynes, and public affairs colleagues for Wales and Scotland to ensure that the University presents both relevant targeted activity in Ireland and a joined-up approach to the devolved governments across the UK
