About the opportunity

The Senior Governance Officer position works closely with the Senior Manager University Governance & Deputy Secretary to Senate to ensure the effective and appropriate coordination of all academic and governance matters affecting the University.

The Senior Governance Officer will report directly to the Senior Manager University Governance & Deputy Secretary to Senate. The Senior Governance Officer provides the University with high level governance support, advice and secretariat support to the Committees of Senate, University Executive (UE), and the Academic Board.

About you

  • exemplifies strong ability to interpret, develop and provide advice on complex legislation, policies and procedures especially within the higher education environment
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills across a wide range of enquiries
  • strong understanding of project management methodology, including project processes, document and reporting templates and planning tools.
  • strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workloads during busy periods
  • exemplary ability to recognise priorities and understand the interlocking responsibilities of governance and committees.
