Working as part of an integrated College Professional Services team, the primary role of this post is to provide a full professional and confidential Executive Assistant service to the PVC and College Registrar. The post-holder must be able to plan and prioritise a busy and varied workload, will be expected to contribute to a range of key projects and activities, and will be capable of dealing with people at the highest level, both nationally and internationally. The PVC and College Registrar lead their own internal Senior Management teams, being the College Executive Group and Senior Professional Team, and the post-holder will be expected to work closely with both groups to provide required support and, where appropriate, initiate actions. The post-holder will lead a team of nine, whilst also providing Professional Services links to other Research based Administrators within the College.
The Executive Office is the administrative hub of the activities of the College. In addition to the post-holder, the Executive Support Team includes the Executive Assistant, supporting the Associate Deans, and Administrative Assistants, supporting the Heads of Discipline. The Executive Office receives, manages and processes internal and external matters in relation to the College's operation and business. For this, the post-holder requires a broad overview and understanding of the College's activities and of the constituent Disciplines/Centres and activities within the College. The post-holder also has to maintain commercial awareness, keeping up-to-date with current changes and developments in the University and HE as a whole.
