The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world's largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, we employ over 900 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000. We were the first-ever independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers and in 2012 we gained university title. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds. In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong and an Online campus.
We are looking for a full-time Senior Employability Assistant to support our Pro Bono and Careers activity and to co-ordinate the running of the overall provision of support to students.
You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that the Employability Offices at the London Campuses (including Norwich) run effectively and deliver an excellent customer service to students, staff visitors and all internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting the scheduling of annual calendar of events ensuring staffing cover from within the team and freelancers.
- Processing and maintaining financial transactions and employment related documentation.
- Supporting the Pro Bono staff; liaising with prospective legal advice clients and taking case details; liaising with the supervisor to identify appropriate clients; making appointments and allocating students to clients.
Please note, CVs will not be considered and only application forms are accepted for this role.
For an informal discussion about the role please contact John.Watkins@law.ac.uk
No agencies please.
Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check - you will be notified of this during the application process.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals are currently under-represented within the University – which does not reflect our diverse student body - we would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates. All appointments will be made on merit.
