If you've answered yes to all of these questions, then the role of Senior Digital Marketing Assistant is perfect for you; particularly if you would like a career in a varied, busy and exciting area of the University.

You'll join our busy Digital Marketing Team who are responsible for supporting the marketing and recruitment activities across the university. You'll provide full day-to-day support and development activities across a range of web and digital systems, including CRM activities. You'll also produce and commission new content in a variety of formats including case studies, news and events promotion, video, photography and digital presentations.

Please note that interviews for this role will be held remotely on Tuesday 17 August.


Principal accountabilities
Website development

Use the University’s CMS (Terminal 4) to build new pages and to create, maintain and update existing content to ensure that the site is competitive in terms of SEO, and contains accurate, appropriate, relevant and exciting information.


Website maintenance and review

Conduct an annual audit of the Colleges' websites and make recommendations for change to the College Marketing and Recruitment Manager. Specifically review: format and structure; content; search engine and keyword optimisation; links; usability and readability.


Produce online content

In conjunction with colleagues, research and produce innovative, media rich web content including web banners, buttons, writing and editing copy, taking photographs and creating and editing videos. Work must conform to the University’s brand, style and writing guidelines.


Digital recruitment campaigns

Investigate and set-up online advertising campaigns to support recruitment for College courses and events e.g. PPC, Google AdWords and work with external suppliers to produce online adverts and web banners.

Recommend and implement new web functionality to assist the marketing team with online recruitment campaigns e.g. forms, embedded videos, trackable URLs. Work collaboratively with the Central Digital Marketing team to produce HTML emails.


Reporting and evaluation

Monitor website traffic and trends and ensure all digital communications are evaluated and monitored in order to produce monthly reports on the success of recruitment campaigns and initiatives. Make recommendations to develop existing online, digital and social media channels to engage and communicate effectively with key audiences. Produce online questionnaires to obtain customer feedback at events e.g. recruitment events. Investigate the competitor web offer.


Other

Undertake any other reasonable duties within the overall Marketing function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the role. This will include assisting at events such as on-campus and off-campus recruitment events and graduation. Adopt a professional approach in understanding and responding to client and customer needs. Essential Criteria
Qualifications
  • Relevant A-Levels (or equivalent qualifications) or comparable marketing knowledge gained through professional experience

Experience
  • Experience of creating and editing internet web content management systems
  • Recent experience of working in a marketing environment
  • Experience of having co-ordinated the production of marketing materials

Skills, knowledge & abilities
  • Excellent web skills including experience of using content management systems
  • Strong web-based research skills
  • Sound knowledge of the uses and benefits of web marketing
  • Ability to co-ordinate multiple projects and successfully delivering to deadline
  • Good at adapting ideas into workable solutions
  • Ability to foster and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships.

Business requirements
  • Ability to work out of hours on occasion

Desirable Criteria
Qualifications
  • Completed, working towards or willing to undertake one of the Chartered Institute of Marketing professional qualifications

Experience
  • Experience of supporting promotional events
  • Experience of working with students in a Higher Education / Further Education environment

Skills, knowledge and abilities
  • Familiar with the Microsoft Office package including Microsoft Project
  • Video and image editing (preferably Photoshop trained)
  • Ability to create digital display banners
