Senior Clinical Lecturer in Radiology (Devon) (E&S)

Updated: 7 days ago
Location: Exeter, ENGLAND
Deadline: 02 Jun 2024

Faculty of Health and Life Sciences

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, clinically active Radiologist to contribute to the education and training of medical students at the University of Exeter Medical School. Our BMBS Medicine programme incorporates clinical experience from the first month and is based around small group learning using real-world clinical cases. This is a new role, as we have identified a need for clinical educational leadership within the discipline of Radiology. Please note that as the University of Exeter Medical School is based at campuses in Devon and Cornwall, we are advertising for equivalent roles in each locality. We envisage that this fractional teaching role would be undertaken alongside the clinician’s current NHS practice, providing our medical students with authentic and clinically relevant teaching in the discipline of radiology, and providing the role holder with rich experience and direct involvement in the education and training of the next generation of doctors.

The role

This permanent part-time (0.2 FTE/2 PA) post is available immediately in the University of Exeter Medical School, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. You will contribute to academic teaching delivery within all years of the BMBS Medicine programme within the area of Radiology at St Luke’s Campus or the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust sites.

  • Have a track record of excellent teaching across a variety of levels within your discipline.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of a range of teaching at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.

What we can offer you:

  • Freedom (and the support) to pursue your intellectual interests and to work creatively across disciplines;
  • Support teams that understand the University wide teaching goals and partner with our academics accordingly;
  • An Innovation, Impact and Business directorate that works closely with our academics providing specialist support for external engagement and development;
  • Our Exeter Academic initiative supports high performing academics to achieve their potential and develop their career;
  • A multitude of staff benefits including sector leading benefits around maternity, adoption and shared parental leave (up to 26 weeks full pay), Paternity leave (up to 6 weeks full pay), and a new Fertility Treatment Policy;
