Senior Administrative Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to join the editorial office for the Aerosol Science and Technology Journal. The AS&T Administrator will work as part of the AS&T team, providing operational support necessary to develop and grow our scientific journal that publishes papers that advance knowledge and research of aerosols. In addition, the role holder will provide administrative support to the Partnerships Manager for the Centre for Doctoral Training in Aerosol Science.

The role will be based in The School of Chemistry with scope for blended working in line with the school’s guidance and our calendar of events.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the editorial office of the Aerosol Science and Technology Journal such as manuscript submissions, Twitter account, promotional materials for exhibitions, e-newsletters, meetings…
  • Supporting the Partnerships Manager for the CDT in Aerosol Science through coordinating engagement with Partners
  • You have good organisational, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have good computer skills with experience working with Excel, Word and MS Outlook
  • You can complete tasks to a high level of accuracy and attention to details.
  • You are flexible and a good team player.
  • You can use a range of IT systems and are able to adapt to new systems and processes quickly.
  • You are friendly and approachable and would like to work in a varied role, with different groups within and outside of the University. 

Desirable skills:

  • Any experience in marketing and communication and using a content management system
  • Any experience in digital/social media

Contract type: Open ended with fixed funding until 31/03/2026

Work pattern: 21 hours per week

Grade: E

Salary: £24,248 - £26,444 per annum
